ABC News Coverage – Amelie House (TAS): Watch The Video

Our latest completed project Amelie House, a transitional housing facility for women at-risk of homelessness or domestic violence in Hobart, officially opened it’s doors only a few weeks ago.

What was achieved in such a limited timeframe was nothing short of remarkable. Thanks to the generosity of our corporate partners, and the indispensable work of Vinnies Tasmania, Amelie House is now able to provide over 47,000 nights of supported accommodation over the next three years to vulnerable women.

Thank you to The Ascott Limited for supplying Amelie House with $500,000 worth of furniture, Dulux for the fresh paint job throughout the interior, and the project management, contractual advice, logistics, and storage and processing of donated materials supplied by the team at Mona – Museum of Old and New Art.

Other corporate contributors to the project included Bunnings, Broadview Landscaping, Earthworm Landscaping, Fall Real Estate, Fearless Building Inspections, Greenhill Nursery, Wolf Property, Lily & Dot, New Wave Perennials, Playstreet Pty Ltd, Reveg Tasmania Pty Ltd, Ruth Malcolm, SLS Landscape Group and Westland Nurseries. This just goes to show that corporate contributions, both big and small, all have a role to play in turning projects like this into a reality. Special recognition goes out to the incredible team at Vinnies Tasmania, local businesses, our fantastic Tasmania state chair Stephen Devereaux, and the volunteers from the local community who helped bring this project to fruition.
