Bridget House
Bridget House in the Bayside Peninsula, Victoria, a formerly vacant building, was given a new lease on life earlier this year thanks to the generosity of Housing All Australia’s corporate partners.
By harnessing private sector capital and the time, goods, and services our corporate partners provided, this vacant space has been transformed into much-needed housing for families (women and children) from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds needing safety and support following their experience of family violence.

The renovation employed a “light touch” approach, including a fresh paint job, minor refurbishments to sanitary facilities and bathrooms, upgrades to appliances, and landscaping works. The project timeline was remarkably efficient, with planning and design taking 4-5 months and the construction phase completed in just 2 weeks.
The project involved a variety of corporate partners, generously donating their goods, services, and time to see the project to completion. The estimated value of all goods and services donated to the project was over $115,500.

Our corporate partners for this project included construction by Henley Homes and their subcontractors for the build portion of the project, alongside architecture firm Newfound, building surveyor Krneta, and planner Ratio consultants.
As the land owners, Mercy Health, generously provided the property to Housing All Australians, with Good Shepherd serving as the facilities operator, providing tenancy management and support to residents, as well as connecting them to additional community services. Their target is to accommodate 104 household stays over an 18-month period, offering residents stability and safety while they connect with long-term housing solutions.
Other corporate contributors include Taubmans Paint, Carpet Call, Glen Dimplex Group, Corinthian, Moorabbin Timber, A&L windows, and Knauf plaster, as well as many more individual subcontractors organised through Henley Homes.
Thanks to this generosity, Bridget House can now provide accommodation for up to 6 families at a time, depending on the size of the households.
